Interim Head Esports Coach - Darren Jones

Darren Jones enters his second season as the Assistant Esports Coach in 2020. During the fall 2020 season Coach Jones led our Fortnite team to an ECAC playoffs final, where they took runner-up. Coach Jones also led the Fortnite team to its highest national ranking of second in the ECAC.


In 2019-2020 season Coach Jones led our League of Legends team to be ECAC Gold Division League Champions. Coach Jones also led our Fortnite team to achieve national rankings of 5th and 10th in the nation and competed in two different national playoffs during 2019-2020 seasons in Collegiate Star League and ECAC.


Darren has played competitive Fortnite and Call of Duty for 9 years. He has compete in LAN tournaments in Fortnite for the past 16 months. Darren brings competitive experience to not only his games but to the esports program in general. He earned his Bachelor's degree in 2016 and is currently working on his Master's of Education, both from Central Methodist University. Jones has been apart of Central Methodist Athletics since 2012, where he was a four year member of the men's soccer team. He also was the Assistant Men's Soccer coach at Westminster College, Fulton, MO from 2016-2018.



Student Assistant Esports Coach - Gabriel Ellinghouse


Gabriel Ellinghouse enters his second season as the Student Assistant Esports Coach in 2020. Coach Ellinghouse leads our Overwatch team at Central Methodist University.


Specializing in micro development of players he has coached at a semi professional level for the past three years. He has experience in Tier 3 as well as Tier 2 and has coached 6 different regions in his short three years as a coach.


He is currently earning his Bachelor's degree from Central Methodist University.
